Our non-profit organization is dedicated to fostering greater civic awareness and empowering young people to become informed and active citizens. Our programs and initiatives are designed to help young people learn the skills and knowledge they need to make a difference in their communities and in the world. ActNY was founded by Esme Vroom, a Senior at Little Red Elisabeth Irwin High School located in downtown Manhattan. She is committed to social justice, with a particular focus on reforms to make the criminal justice system more equitable and humane. Understanding government at the local, city, state and Federal levels is one way we can all encourage broader participation in the political process and foster the kind of equal opportunity and fairness that we all deserve.
