Community Boards

Community boards are the city's local representative bodies, with 59 boards across all five boroughs. Board members are selected by City Council members and their primary responsibility is to assess and respond to feedback given by the district's residents, serving as advocates for their local community.

Attending public hearings at your local Community Board can be an excellent way of having your concerns heard. These meetings take place multiple times per month, and provide a space for residents of the board's community to voice their opinion on local issues.
